Highlights were the Oval Fountain and its surrounding grottos and the Neptune Fountain. I was surprised not to see more flowering plants but these are largely green gardens with established trees, tall cypresses, laurel hedges, shrubbery, statues, paths and water displays. They are formally set out, with paths leading you past giant waterfall fountains, shooting jets of water and small, discreet fountains in hidden corners. Whilst the villa is interesting enough, the gardens are the star of the show here. It was easy getting there on the train and from memory, it took less than an hour.
